A.K. Huntington – Author

I never expected to be here. I didn’t grow up dreaming of book deals or calling myself a writer. But somewhere between chronic illness, creative reclamation, and the quiet grief of being unseen, I found stories that needed telling—and a voice that wouldn’t stay silent.

I write fiction that entertains, uplifts, and gently shifts perspective. My work is shaped by lived experience with HSD, a multisystemic condition often neglected and misunderstood. That reality isn’t easy—but it’s fertile ground for stories that explore identity, resilience, and the systems we navigate every day.

What I Write

  • Contemporary Fiction that blends emotional depth with commercial appeal
  • Children’s Picture Books that validate difference and spark curiosity
  • Graphic Novels and Speculative Fiction in development—bold, voice-driven, and socially aware

My manuscripts explore themes of grief, power, gender bias, ableism, and systemic neglect. They’re designed to be light and engaging, with just enough weight to leave readers thinking—and talking.

Why I Write

Writing is both a therapeutic outlet and a strategic tool.

I believe fiction can be a catalyst for change—and that awareness doesn’t have to come at the cost of joy.

For Publishers

If you’re seeking fresh, own-voice manuscripts in commercial fiction, children’s literature, graphic novels, or speculative formats, I’d love to connect. I bring adaptability, strategic insight, and a deep commitment to craft. My disability isn’t a barrier—it’s the reason I’m here, with strengths seemingly designed for this path.

I’m building stories that make the unseen visible. I hope you’ll join me on the journey—and be part of the change.
